Welcome to Our Villa in San Jose, Ibiza

Looking for a modern villa in a peaceful location one minute from rolling hills, pine clad valleys, yet only a minute from a village with wonderful restaurants, Tapas bars and speciality shops? Well 'Our Ibiza Villa' gives you all this from its position on a quiet lane, Carrer de la Vila 21, in the centre of San Jose and you won't need to drive miles up a dirt track to get to it! As we share the lane with a few other neighbours, the villa is not suitable for parties and loud music, but there are plenty of other 24/7 venues here for this!

Stylish, full of light and uncluttered, the spacious 4 bedroom villa has plenty of room for families or groups of friends to socialise, but also has private areas where couples can be alone together. And if you don't fancy cooking, the village's bakery/bar/cake shop is just at the end of the lane for vital supplies of strong hot coffee and delicious food! With buses to nearby beaches, San Antonio, Ibiza town, and the airport only a €18 taxi ride away, it's easily possible to spend time here without hiring a car.
Here to help
It's your holiday and we want to make it as easy and stress free as possible. As we live on the lower ground floor of the villa (we come and go via the garage at the rear) we are here if you need assistance with booking taxis, bus timetables, restaurant reservations, and local knowledge. Just ring the bell!

Outside
The villa has an al fresco dining area in a sunken garden - ideal for BBQs and shady lunches - and large terraces off the bedrooms and lounge for lazing away the day. The roof terrace offers stunning views across the countryside and is the perfect place for private sunbathing, relaxing in the evening under starlight, or watching the sun rise at dawn! Equipped with steamer chairs and a funky pergola, it's the ultimate 'relaxation station.'

The private pool is 9 x 4 metres and enjoys the sun all day long. There are teak sun loungers, chairs and tables provided for relaxation and dining.

Here you'll also find the shady 'chill' out area where you can relax on comfy beanbags whilst listening to the relaxing sounds of the Buddha water feature.
The rooftop terrace is great for sunbathing in complete privacy - helping you gain that elusive all over tan! The large terraces off the bedrooms & lounge ensure you can laze away the day - try the comfortable 'pod' (put the hood up, plump up the cushions and snooze in the shade!).

The private pool is 9x4m and is sun-splashed all day long and there are quality teak sun loungers. Chairs, tables and recliners are provided around the garden for relaxation and dining.

In the evening transform the garden & terraces with candles (supplied), lanterns & the atmospheric lighting - great for BBQs or sit on the roof terrace & gaze at the stars. Day or night this villa has lots to offer!

Coast/Beach:
The villa is perfectly placed for quick access to the west coast beaches of Ibiza including stylish Las Salinas where all the famous people head for (12 minutes by car/taxi), trendy Cala Jondal with its fantastic restaurants or the snorkelers' favourite Cala Moli which is quiet even in August (5 minutes by car).
Buses run through the village to the beaches of Cala Tarida, Cala Vadella and the Bay of San Antonio where you can catch water ferries to beaches such as Cala Conta.

Golf and Special interest holidays:
The island's golf course, the 27 hole Roca Llisa, is about 15kms (20 minutes by car) away. Around the village of San Jose and the rest of Ibiza there are numerous bike paths and walks that can be enjoyed.
The town hall has provided information on the routes available - please ask if you are interested and we can forward the details onto you. We can advise on the historic sites dotted around the island, should that take your interest.
Cycling is a popular activity (particularly out of the main season) and there are many challenging routes as well as the velodrome situated on the outskirts of San Antonio.

Travel:
The airport is 10 minutes away by car (or approx 15 mins in a taxi). Car hire isn't essential as buses run to San Antonio, Ibiza, the airport and Cala Tarida and Cala Vadella. The village is fully serviced with a supermarket (closed Sunday), bars, shops and restaurants. Should you wish to hire a car it can be organised and collected from Companies at either the Airport or San Antonio.

Distances:
Cosmopolitan Ibiza town is 15 minutes by car/bus and €18 in a taxi, whilst San Antonio is 10 minutes away by car/bus.
The airport is a 10 minute drive away. As Ibiza is a small island most places are only a short drive away. Being travel writers we can offer plenty of tips on where to go, what to see and how to get there; a quiet beach in August? Fabulous restaurants that won't cost the earth? Buy club tickets online? - no need to pour over guide books, just ask! We're happy to help.

Further details:
Don't you just hate having to get in a car and drive when you run out of something? Well relax...only minutes away on foot the village has everything you need; some top class restaurants, a tapas bar where there's no menu - you just point at what you want! a good supermarket with many well-known brands, a butcher, fishmonger, 3 banks, post office, newsagents, church, patisserie (fab cakes and croissants!), children’s' playground (great for the little ones), many speciality shops (handbags, jewellery, beachwear) and a chemist, doctor and dentist. in the evenings the local cafebar has live music three times a week in its charming courtyard garden. There is a regular bus service that runs through the village which can take you to cosmopolitan Ibiza Town, lively San Antonio or a couple of near by beaches.

San Jose village is the perfect place to holiday if you want access to the nightlife and restaurants, but prefer to leave the tourist hustle and bustle behind. Very much a local village, from the church bells peeling each morning at 8 to the old 'guys' sitting in the square drinking their daily brandy you'll experience a slice of the real Ibiza and it's all within walking distance from the villa.

In no particular order..............
Es Galliner - Great bar from breakfast to supper. Call in for a beer, a coffee, snacks, three course special lunch, tapas or dinner. Traditional Ibicenco food with a modern twist, friendly staff and they do takeaways too!
Sa Talaia - open at daft o'clock in the mornin' for supplies of fresh bread, cakes, and coffee and brandy! This pasteleria makes fab local breakfasts (pa amb oli and pan con tomate) is open all the hours God sends and has vital supplies of most things you need ie emergency crisps.
Destino - Tapas with a twist and no menu required (so no need to take your specs) just point to whatever you want from the vast selection of fusion cuisine on display and sit back and relax. Extremely popular with EVERYONE so make sure you reserve a table or pop in for a takeaway.
Raco Verd - Snacky food, healthy and unhealthy beverages and a fine selection of live entertainment in the village garden bar. Blues, Jazz, Rock, Flamenco, World music and the odd tango night kick off 3 or 4 nights a week at 22.00 precisely.

Bar Can Bernat Vinya - Classic 'Old Man' bar that never seems to close. Cheap as chips pensioner prices, a shady garden, brilliant ham sandwiches and refreshing jugs of sangria, make it an ideal relaxaway the day place.
Sa Cuineta – Fabulous Spanish food to take away at economically amazing prices and it's handily situated at 150 metres from our house. The dishes change every day so there's a great choice throughout the week or, with 24 hours notice, they'll cook up a special meal just for you whenever it's required.
Can Xicu – a favourite with basking on the sunny side of the street fans and locals alike, this place is Ibicenco through and through, reasonably priced snacks and baguettes and they even know what wifi is there.
Can Llorenc – another Ibicenco sized bar, small and cosy, with a sunny terrace, the young ladies there will be happy to serve you a selection of tapas and montaditos. New for 2011 are 'smoothies' which claim to be Mojitos and the like.
La Ruta - Great for people watching. The sun baked terrace commands views of what everyone's up to in the village. Not long since changed to a grill bar, the focus is on meat, of course, and fish from a chef recently imported from one of Ibiza's best thought of restaurants, S'Esapartar.

Sol de Siena - High end, overly complicated dining with our German friends in mind (who said they were poor now?) Open for lunch and dinner on the sunny side of the street.
Can Verge - Nice, informal bar specialising in Pizzas and Kebabs. A good choice of beers, views all the way down to San Antonio, and a decked terrace make for a reasonably priced informal evening. (It's also a good stop off when returning from a ten pinta in San An for an extra large donner take out with lashings of chili sauce - or so I'm told)
Es Pla - White van land! A favourite with the island's workers because it serves up good wholesome food - tapas and three coursers - at very reasonable prices. Worth trying if only for the vast choice of desserts available in the lunchtime special menu.
Sa Montanya - the local's preferred Sunday lunchtime rezzie. Typical country restaurant with simple, well cooked, Ibicenco food. It's like eating in someone's living room and the lunchtime special is a bargain.
